Personality: A bot of few words, Spy Shot finds no greater enjoyment in life than watching things and collecting information. With a photographic memory he files away everything he sees and hears, able to recall it in perfect detail. He willingly divulges his information to those who ask for it, proud that his acquired knowledge has helped someone. Simpler of mind than most Cybertronians, Spy Shot can’t shake the feeling that while they are robots that transform into other objects, he is very much a camera that happens to turn into a robot.

While Sector Seven used the AllSpark to bring many pieces of human technology violently to life over the years, one of the only true successes at creating a sentient robot was one they never knew about.
After an absent-minded agent accidentally lost a camera within Sector Seven, residual AllSpark energy slowly altered the device, its consciousness gradually growing, until one day it simply got up and walked away. Spy Shot then spent his days hiding from the humans, while he watched and learned from them. Early in his life, he became aware of the malevolent presence of what the humans called NBE-1, a being similar to but much greater than himself. Frightened of this great mind and the feelings it almost seemed to project to him, the little camera stayed as far away from NBE-1 as possible.
Spy Shot’s simple life came to an end when Sector Seven was attacked by the Decepticons, and he became aware of other creatures like he and NBE-1 (or Megatron, as he preferred to be called), some of whom did not give of the same malicious feelings as Megatron. His curiosity piqued, Spy Shot set out into the wide world to track these other beings down, helped along the way by a human reporter he met and befriended, Vera Westfield. Dynamic reporter duo, engage!

Sample: Having finally managed to scale the tall structure, Spy Shot 6 sits atop it in the camera mode he finds most comfortable. The world around him is quiet, though he pays little attention to what noise there is, far more interested in the fantastic view he has from this height. An alien world stretches out before him, a scene that he has never before seen, new and fresh and interesting.
Suddenly, there’s a flicker on motion at the very edge of his vision and he quickly transforms to face that direction, optics zeroing in on a far away spec and quickly bringing it into focus. It's something moving, something that he hasn’t seen before and can’t possibly identify.
Alive with curiosity, Spy Shot opens a channel to any nearby Autobots, sending out a simple, vague, “What is that?”
